The biggest enemy in online battles is not your opponent, but “lag”.
When you press a button, it doesn’t respond, the screen freezes…this is no match.
It is sometimes referred to as “line compatibility,” but it is good manners to first prepare your own environment.
Wireless (Wi-Fi) is basically not allowed
This may sound harsh, but Wi-Fi connections are not recommended for fighting games.
No matter how fast the optical line is, wireless communication is prone to packet loss (data loss), which can cause momentary interruptions.
If you are using a Switch organic EL model, be sure to connect it directly, or if it is an older model, be sure to install a USB wired LAN adapter.
Setting MTU value (limited effect)
There is a trick that you often see on the internet called “changing the MTU value to 1500”, but this depends on the environment.
It is effective for some lines such as NURO Hikari, but if you make a mistake in the settings, it will become unstable.
Basically, leave it as “Auto”, but give priority to making it wired first.
Summary
The world will change just by making it wired. You can buy it on Amazon for less than 2,000 yen, so it’s a great return on investment.
