[PC cleaning] Dust is the reason why your computer is noisy and hot! Correct cleaning procedures and precautions to avoid damage

Has your gaming PC been quiet when you bought it, but lately has it been making a loud buzzing noise?
That’s the sound of the fan spinning at full speed due to reduced cooling efficiency due to the dust that has accumulated inside.
If left unattended, it may cause malfunction due to thermal runaway.
Introducing a PC maintenance method that can be completed in 10 minutes that even beginners can do safely.

What to prepare: Air duster is required

Sucking it up with a vacuum cleaner is not allowed. Static electricity may be generated and parts may be destroyed in one hit.
Be sure to have “air duster (spray can)” ready. Amazon sells a set of 3 at a low price.

Cleaning procedures and things you should never do

  1. Turn off the power and unplug the power outlet. (Prevention of electric shock)
  2. Leave it for about 10 minutes to discharge.
  3. Open the side panel.
  4. Blow out the dust by blowing air duster toward the fan and heat sink.

Note:When blowing air onto the fan blades, hold the fan with your fingers to prevent it from spinning.
If you force the fan to rotate at high speed due to strong wind, the motor will generate electricity and current will flow backwards to the motherboard, which may result in a malfunction.

Summary

Blowing away the dust once every six months will extend the life of your PC by several years. Take care of your beloved machine.
