In the world of gaming monitors, it is said that “high refresh rate is justice.”
Is it worth switching from the currently mainstream 144Hz to the higher-end 240Hz (or 360Hz)?
I will give you an honest review about the limits of the human eye and the changes in the “bullet hit” when you actually play the game.
From 60Hz to 144Hz “the world will change”
First of all, the impact when you change from a Switch or a regular TV (60Hz) to 144Hz is tremendous.
It feels like a flip book has been turned into an animation, and the enemy movements look slow.
It is no exaggeration to say that 144Hz is the minimum compulsory education for FPS.
From 144Hz to 240Hz is “a slight difference but advantageous”
To be honest, the change from 144Hz to 240Hz is not dramatic.
However, in “fast-moving games” like Apex and Overwatch, the visibility when turning around and the tracking aim will definitely improve.
If you want to eliminate “excuses when you lose”, you should buy 240Hz.
Note: Are the PC specs sufficient?
Even if the monitor supports 240Hz, there is no point if the PC side cannot output 240fps.
Requires the latest GPU (RTX 50 series or 40 series).
Before buying a monitor, turn on the FPS display in the game and check how much your current PC is displaying.
