Four major sale dates
Steam has big sales every season.
During this period, almost all games will be eligible for discounts.
- Spring Sale (mid-March):Spring break season. The discount rate is reasonable.
- Summer sale (late June to early July): One of thebiggest sales. New releases are often discounted for the first time.
- Autumn sale (late November): Coincides with Black Friday. Voting for the Steam Awards will also be held.
- Winter Sale (late December to early January):The second biggest sale. It has the highest discount rate and is perfect for procuring games to play during the year-end and New Year holidays.
Check the lowest price using “SteamDB”
“It’s 50% off right now, but is it really that cheap?”
If you think so, search for the game on the external site “SteamDB”.
You can view past price trend graphs.
If there is a history of “70% off” in the past, now may not be the time to buy.
On the other hand, if it says “New Historic Low”, you can click on it immediately.

In addition to official Steam, official key sales sites such as “Fanatical” and “Humble Bundle” may bundle (sell as a set) cheaper than Steam.
Humble Bundle is often a much better deal, especially if you’re buying several indie games at once.
Of course, you can play normally by entering the purchased key into Steam.
