[Smash Bros. SP] Why can’t I appeal in online battles? Why “bending and stretching” is considered bad manners

Have you ever thought it was a malfunction because you can use the cross pad to make an “appeal” when offline or in a CPU battle, but you can’t do it online (outside of a dedicated room)?

Why you can’t promote online

In the past games (for WiiU/3DS), the act of repeatedly hitting appeals to provoke the opponent was rampant, so the official took a countermeasure by “Removed the appeal function in Quick Play (including VIP)”.
Currently, only “exclusive rooms” can be advertised online.

What is “bend and stretch”?

Instead of appealing, the act of repeatedly hitting the stick downward repeatedly and crouching down is called “flexing.”
Overseas, it is called “Teabagging” and is considered to be an extremely provocative act of provocation.
