The first thing that makes people who are new to Valorant despair is the technical terminology used in voice chat (VC).
“The enemy is in Heaven!” “CT is spinning!” “Beware of hookers!”
If you can’t understand what your allies are saying, you won’t be able to cooperate.
This time, we will explain “Required Map Names”, which are used in common to all maps, and their meanings.
Just by remembering this, you will be able to report to your allies smoothly and your rank will go up by one.
1. Heaven
A high place overlooking the site (bomb installation location).
Exists in most maps (Ascent A/B, Haven A/C, etc.).
You can get the message across by saying “upper,” but saying “heaven” sounds more professional and avoids misunderstandings.
The opposite low point is called “Hell”.
2. CT (City) / T (T)
“CT” is near the respawn point (starting point) of the defenders (Counter-Terrorists).
“T” is near the respawn point of the attackers (Terrorists).
If you hear “The enemy is coming from CT!”, be wary of the enemy’s starting point side (=defending side).
By the way, they are not terrorists in the Valorant worldview, but they are called this as a holdover from the CS:GO era.
3. Long / Short
Among the roads that connect to the site, the long straight line is called “long”, and the short road is called “short”.
Long means there is a high risk of a sniper (operator), and short means there may be hidden enemies with shotguns or submachine guns.
Reports such as “A long progression” and “B short rush” are the basics of basics.
4. Elbow
A corner where the road curves into an L shape.
It is located at the back of Ascent’s B site and Bind’s B site.
Enemies hiding here are likely to jump out, so don’t neglect clearing (checking).
Summary: If you don’t understand, stick a pin in it
If the name does not appear, just open the map (Caps Lock or M key) and stick a pin in it.
However, cooperation is faster if it is communicated instantly in words, so let’s learn it little by little.
